The problem with
"fast learning"

"I read 50 books this year!" โ€” but remember nothing.

"AI summarized this for me!" โ€” but it's not your understanding, it's a robot's.

"Speed reading!" โ€” but your brain needs time to form connections.

The ContextBytes way

๐Ÿ“– Read at your pace

No speed goals. No 'books per month' counters. Just you and the text.

โœ๏ธ Write while you read

Notes attached to specific pages. Highlights that capture your reaction, not AI's.

๐Ÿง  Build your knowledge graph

Every note, every highlight becomes a 'context byte' โ€” a piece of your understanding.

๐Ÿ”„ Review what matters

Flashcards from your own notes. Spaced repetition for your insights, not generic facts.

"AI can summarize.
Only you can understand."

Why this exists

I read a lot. PDFs, articles, YouTube lectures. And at some point I noticed โ€” despite consuming so much, the knowledge wasn't sticking.

The highlights were there. The notes existed. But the understanding? Gone. Meanwhile the world went the other direction โ€” AI summaries, speed reading, "50 books a year" culture. Faster, more, optimized.

But faster consumption isn't learning. It's just a different kind of forgetting.

A "context byte" is the smallest unit of your understanding. Not a summary someone else wrote. Not an AI's interpretation. A piece of knowledge you extracted, in your own words, attached to the exact page where you found it.

So I built this for myself first. No speed metrics. No streaks. No "books per month" counter. Just a place to read slowly, think carefully, and actually own what you learn.
